BKM ESG / DEI
BKM’s ESG Program
ESG has always been fundamentally important to BKM Capital Partners’ investment approach and culture. We constantly push ourselves to think bigger about how we can further integrate these practices in our investment strategies and throughout our firm as a whole.
Our approach to ESG
BKM endeavors to align business decisions, values, and ethics with ESG considerations. We maximize the positive impact of our ESG actions and the value they deliver for our business by focusing on the following priorities:
Environmental
To improve operational performance by reducing energy, water usage, waste, and incorporating sustainable materials.
Social
To cultivate a positive culture and community for our investors, tenants, and employees by investing time and resources into developing our talent, enhancing a diverse, equitable, inclusive work environment, and encouraging volunteerism and charity across our workforce.

Governance
To foster diverse and accountable governance and always maintain high ethical standards for mutual growth. To protect and secure data, infrastructure and identity for the long-term growth and health of BKM.

PEOPLE
Environmental
BKM is committed to the conservation of natural resources at both the corporate and investment level through energy management programs and management practices that respect the environment.

Social
BKM is committed to making a positive impact on the wellbeing of our employees, tenants, partners, and the communities in which we work and invest through our corporate and investment-level operations.
We engage with our employees to provide a challenging, dynamic, inclusive, and diverse work environment that supports their professional development, as well as promoting a good work-life balance that prioritizes their overall health and well-being.
Tenant Relations
BKM hosts tenant appreciation events to promote the comradery of the local community and businesses. Being in the light industrial space, our assets are comprised of many mom & pop businesses as well as a mix of larger, more-established companies. This provides an opportunity for smaller business to connect and partner with their local neighbors.

Community Relations
& Philanthropy
BKM supports initiatives that benefit the communities, environment, and human welfare through a robust Charitable Giving program.
Through our BKM Volunteer initiatives, we set out to make a difference in the communities in which we work and serve. We provide 16 hours of paid volunteer time for every employee each year and in the first half of 2022, 24 BKM team members volunteered to support Beyond Blindness, Child Creativity Lab and Project Hope Alliance.

Empowering Women
We created the BKM Women’s Network in 2022 to support women at BKM through mentorship, community and educational events. BKM provides ongoing support, inspiration, and opportunities to connect, share, learn and lead.
BKM tracks metrics such as employee demographics, women and minority owned businesses in our tenant base, and looks to track the impact of our philanthropic efforts on increasing social equity.
