At BKM, our leasing professionals are the face of our mission—dedicated, relationship-driven, and essential to our success. In our Field Notes series, we highlight the team members who bring that mission to life every day. This time, we sat down with Dallas Sacriste, a Leasing Coordinator based in Las Vegas, to discuss her path into leasing, what sets BKM apart, and how listening, adaptability, and collaboration drive success in a dynamic industrial market.

What made you want to get into leasing in the first place?

D: Leasing has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started leasing apartments in high school on weekends because of my mom who had a career in property management. Over time, I gained experience across single-family, multifamily, and now industrial properties. I’ve always enjoyed the structure of leasing—from contracts to negotiations—and it naturally aligned with my interests and skill set. It never felt forced; it just made sense as a long-term career path.

Why do you think BKM stands out as an industrial operator?

D: What really stands out is how hands-on BKM is. We’re not managing properties from a distance—we’re on-site, paying attention to how buildings look, how tenants operate, and what they need. There’s genuine care across the organization, and that shows in the way we approach property management and leasing.

Do you have any notable stories from your time with BKM?

D: One thing that really stood out early on was how inclusive the company culture is. On my second day, I was invited to the Summer Operation Education at our Newport Beach office, where I was able to meet people across teams and leadership. It immediately made me feel connected and supported. BKM does a great job of creating opportunities for people to engage whether it’s through company events, team activities, or just maintaining that unified, collaborative environment.

How do you approach understanding what a tenant really needs beyond what's on paper?

D: It starts with listening. Taking the time to understand what a tenant does, how their business operates, and what their long-term goals are makes a huge difference. By asking the right questions, we’re often able to guide tenants toward solutions they may not have initially considered. That collaborative approach helps ensure the space truly supports their business.

What keeps you motivated even when the market is slow?

D: The ability to stay nimble is key. Because we operate in light industrial, we can adapt spaces based on demand—whether that means reconfiguring units, adjusting office-to-warehouse ratios, or combining spaces to meet tenant needs. The market is always changing, and staying flexible allows us to deliver the right solutions at the right time.

How do you build meaningful connections with brokers and customers?

D: Consistency and communication are everything. Building relationships means listening more than talking, following up regularly, and making an effort to connect beyond just email—whether that’s phone calls or in-person visits. Understanding everyone’s end goal helps keep all parties aligned and builds long-term trust.

What Industry trend are you noticing right now, and how are they shaping your work?

D: Right now, flexibility and service are top priorities for tenants. Many are taking a wait-and-see approach, especially with renewals, which means deals are taking longer to finalize. That’s pushed us to be proactive, keeping communication open, and acting as consultants to help tenants understand their options before market conditions shift.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

D: Overall, I’m grateful for the support I’ve received at BKM. There’s a real emphasis on growth, learning, and collaboration, and that makes it an exciting place to build a career.
